OUR SUPPORT
Whatever your goal or aspirational skiing opportunity you wish to provide your SEN pupils, we are here to help.
We follow a 4 stage process of Explore, Plan, Implement and Evaluate to ensure we cover all areas you need to provide a safe, enjoyable and life changing experience to your pupils. Once our 4 stage process ends, our aim is that you will be able to provide future aspirational skiing opportunities without our support.

Please see below for more detail on how we use this 4 stage process in a variety of areas of support.
FUNDING
Once we identify the skiing activity you would like to provide to your students, we can then begin supporting you with calculating the costs associated with these activities.

We will also work with you to apply to charitable organisations and national governing bodies that we work with to offset some or all of the costs associated with this activity.

In the last 10 years we have secured over £50K to support SEN pupils access dry/snow slope ski lessons, week long residentials in the mountains, skiing clothing and equipment.
SKIING IN THE CURRICULUM
If your goal is to provide your pupils with skiing as part of their curriculum entitlement, a one off whole school activity or as an evidence base for a qualification such as DfE, Princes Trust or Entry level PE, we can help.

We have seen first hand the how skiing can improve pupils self esteem, confidence and aspirations when either accessed as part of a curriculum offer or through a skiing residential.

We have also seen how access to skiing has had a transformative effect on pupils where they apply their new sense of confidence and self esteem to other areas within the curriculum, the wider school community and their daily lives.
RISK ASSESSMENTS AND SAFEGUARDING
Once the skiing activity has been decided we then support you to identify and implement the required risk assessments.
These documents are the building blocks on which successful ski activities and residentials are built upon.
For those special schools accessing a week long residential in the mountains, we work with a dedicated number of organisations to provide chalets on a single occupancy basis. This ensures that pupils are kept safe in their own property.
This also provides a base where they can dine communally, watch films together or just relax around an open log fire.
RESIDENTIAL IN THE MOUNTAINS
Providing your pupils with a week long residential in the mountains is truly a once in a lifetime experience.

This includes us helping you to secure accommodation that is sole occupancy, where your pupils can be safe and their needs catered for.
Once we identify the resort and ski school that suits the needs of your pupils best, we then support you with planning all of the facets required to implement a safe, enjoyable experience that you will never forget.

To assist you this opportunity to pupils, we will provide you with a bespoke level of support which may include some or all of the elements outlined on this page.
QUALIFICATIONS
Some activities may require members of school staff responsible for the skiing activity to obtain the qualifications that will enable this.

Once we have identified the activity you wish to undertake and considered the existing experience and qualifications of your staff team, we support you to plan a ski specific professional development programme with recognised national governing bodies and organisations.
PRE VISIT ASSESSMENT
Being aware of your surroundings prior to a Snozone visit or residential in the mountains is a vital part of a safe and successful skiing activity. For residentials in the mountains, we encourage schools to attend one of our active ski residentials during the upcoming winter season.
This allows schools to see first hand how an effective residential works, but most importantly to begin planning what they need to do related to in resort logistics and risk assessments.
It also enables staff to visit their accommodation and begin considering any adjustments that need to be made. The aim of this visit is to ensure that when you begin your skiing residential, you are familiar with your surroundings and that all eventualities and logistics are considered.
